From start to finish, the secondary characters in Legacy like Steldor, Alera’s suitor, kept me guessing and longing desperately for book two. Looking at the cover alone you are drawn into the story.
This book was amazing! I loved Alera, she was the perfect 17 year old, she was strong, witty, knew what she wanted but wasn’t sure how to get it. View all 22 comments. She became less selfish and inward focused and became more caring about the people around her although it was neither a short or easy journey This book improved on the first book immensely.

He has many good qualities and some flawed ones as well. Dec 07, Amelia rated it it was ok Shelves: I have to agree with that- the book is “ok” but other than that I sort of don’t see what all the fuss is about.
He monologued and boasted and sneered and threatened to a point that completely discredited him.
Steldor is handsome and full of chivalry but Her narration constantly tells us that she’s allured by his eyes and his scent however she’s still holding on to her feelings for Narian and they haunt her. He was, technically, the enemy, but calya a prisoner, Alera was given a unique upper hand that allowed her to sense the power she might have had if she’d been born into the Cokyrian society.
And finally, legacy of a girl becoming a woman. Every single bad thing that happens to her kingdom is the direct result of some utter piece of stupidity brought to them courtesy of Alera.
The characters kept going on and on about how cruel he legacj, but I never saw it. She is constantly on an emotional rollercoaster, and thus is completely useless. legafy
The first boy disappeared on the day of his birth, on a night when the cahla yellow moon that ruled the sky turned red and bathed the heavens in the ghastly color of blood, the klucer night the Empire of Cokyri abruptly ceased its merciless attack.
Alera initially refuses to believe that Narian could be capable of these actions until she discovers him leading Cokyrian troops in an attack against the city. He transformed into a caring and thoughtful man, plus he was so very handsome how could she continue to resist him?
Still my favorite ever series: I’m still utterly stunned that she chose Narian in the end. I can hardly wait for Sacrifice to come out to find if Alera is up to the challenge! Perfect makes for a lame story, and I love that Alera stumbles through things, and that she grows over time, learning from her blunders.

kluvr After all, why exactly does Narian have to “save” her sister’s life by leading the invasion against her country? I think it’s beyond time the publishing industry stopped enabling the Adornetto-wannabes of the world!
The second part is where the action really picks up. This, in no way, affected my opinion or review of this book.
She finds herself unable to love him and equally unable to forget Narian, the one she truly loves. Even in our world, Alera is old enough to go to college and, hopefully, to realize that “saving my sister’s life! There was never a moment where I felt like skimming.
She is surrounded by her family, the royal court, and her personal bodyguards who dutifully protect her from kluer way. So, as you can all see I thoroughly enjoyed it legwcy I recommend it to everyone. It took me one day to read it because there was so much going on that I could not kluvet it down.
She frequently demonstrates the weakness of putting herself and her feelings before others’ needs, and retaliates and sulks when others respond to her confused obstinacy in a way she does not like. Books by Cayla Kluver.
Lots of useless information and sentences that say in twenty words what could kluvrr have been said in ten. But as it stands, it’s horrible. She becomes the person she needs to be rather than the person she wants to be.
She’s in love with him, and that’s that.

I so completely loved Alera’s relationship with her bodyguard, London! Well, specific instances come to mind: Published June 28th by HarlequinTeen first published August 4th The Elite Guards calling Princess Alera and future queen “childish” and “ridiculous” to her face makes no sense even if women aren’t as important as men in Hytanica. That she left Steldor so happily. Everyone seems to know this much about the war, but that’s about the extent of Alera’s knowledge beyond wildly “feminine” things like embroidery, dancing, and household management.
